i just changed the struts on my car.
When i turn the wheel to the left or right i get a %26quot;thunk%26quot; sound. what is that?
Also check the stabilizer links that attach the to the stabilizer bar. These are a common item to break and cause funny clunks or snaps when turning. Hopefully thats it cause they are cheap

is it a thunk or more of a whine and does vehicle have power steering if so check power steering fluid levels low levels make steering a little harder in lower gears and emit a loud whine or in somr cases a thunk / thump sound
It could be the ball joints or the tie rod ends. Get it checked out by a good mechanic. It may not be safe to drive.
