When lowering a 1997 Acura 3.0 CL do you have to change the struts?

I want to lower my car, which as you may have guessed is a 1997 Acura 3.0 CL. I dont know if you can leave the stock struts in after you lower it or if you have to replace them. If I do have to replace them i need to know somewhere to find the different struts.

It depends on how much you're lowering it.

you shouldn't have to...if you lower it more than 2-3 inches you may...or they will wear out faster than at normal height.

see website below...they have all the answers
....why are you doing that?
You should us High performances shock if you want to have a better ride, and to keep the geometry too.
Whenever lowering a car it is always a good idea to change to an aftermarket strut as well. Seeing as how your car is a '97 model you are already due for new struts anyway. The ride quality with lowering springs will more then likely suffer without an aftermarket strut. It will be cheaper for you to change both now and not have to worry about additional installation costs and you will only have to have the car aligned once. www.nlmotoring.com is a reputable company to deal with and I think you will find what you are looking for there.
