How do I change the struts on a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT?

You are going to need a spring compressor, this can be very dangerous, so be careful, if you are not sure of your mechanic abilities I would suggest not trying it yourself. Another option are getting assembled struts from Monroe, which have the spring already on, and just bolt in.

Unbolt them, compress the spring, take top nut off and remove strut, install new strut, tighten nut, release tension on the spring compressor, install strut in car, and get a four wheel alignment done.
rent spring compressor - follow above steps. then go and get car re-aligned immediately.
