I'm not that fat, but even when I'm out of the car, the car sits higher on the left than the right. Will an alignment fix this or do I need new springs or something? I think the struts were changed not too long ago but I don't think the previous owner got an alignment.

The right front needs to be adjusted higher and this will fix the leaning.
When new struts were installed they got the adjustment out on that side. Not knowing what type of vehicle you have I cant tell you how to adjust it.

You need springs or air in your tires. The alignment will not affect ride height.
