SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT and mount issues?

the engine light i beleve is because of a bad o2 sensor, its goes on and off every five seconds at idle but when i apply the brake is doesnt come on, and will driving it comes on only a few times but not as bad as at idle, am i on the right page here?

also

well i changed the strut mount and passenger front motor mount in my 94 oldsmobile cutlass supreme because it jumped real bad every time i put it in gear, the mounts where ate up real bad from previous owners, it helped some but when i am driving and go into reverse then to drive it goes clunk, but if im just siting still and move the gears its fine, almost like if the engine was reved a lil bit then into gear it will go clunk real bad and the engine jerks forward

is this fine or maybe another mount may be bad?

thanks

1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair...with that being said...

2nd, your service engine light is normally due to your engine in need of an oil change, depending on year, make, and model, or it could mean a variety of different codes...need more information than what you have here.

3rd, as far as the transmission issue...it sounds like a couple of different problems such as transmission mounts or differential problems.

My advise to you...take it to a trusted and certified technician that can do the proper diagnostics and give you a proper repair.

Good luck and hope this helps.

The service light should not come on and off in that fast of a time frame , when it detects an issue it would take a couple cycles (start and turn off car) , that is pretty odd . Other issue I would check the transmission mounts .
Just because the check engine light is on does not mean it is an O2 sensor. You must scan for the codes and DIAGNOSE the problem. How would you like it if you came to my shop and sold you and O2 sensor and then you came back with the light on and then I sold you a $300 Mass Air Flow sensor and so on until we got it right.

You must find out what is causing the problem.

On the other issue, check all of your engine and trans. mounts. Also, some cars have torque mounts on top that look like %26quot;Dog Bones%26quot;. Take a look at them.
