How long should a newly replace clutch last on my Honda Civic? Also, how much do new shocks cost?
You are forgetting the timing belt on your interference motor...if the belt goes/breaks it will bend lots of valves and maybe poke a hole in one of the pistons etc... the Clutch in your Civic should last just as long as any other clutch...the problem with most zippy little Civics is that the car is operated in an aggressive manner and thus the short clutch life

The bounce test does not apply to struts, only shocks. Struts last about 80,000 miles. They usually run about $75 each for the part and between $50-75 each for labor. Also make sure you change the timing belt.

A brand new clutch will go atleast 100,000 miles in your car.
The shocks will vary based on the conditions you drive in.
A good test is to push down on the hood with your hands and then let go. If the car bounces up and down, your shocks are shot. If it just returns to normal without bouncing they are still good.
