Changing the shocks and struts on a mustang?

i own a 1996 mustang gt. and i installed a custom lowering kit lowered the front 2.5 inch rear 2 inch and the stock shocks pretty much stay fully compressed due the 2.5 inch drop and they pretty much have no use saying that they cant decompress and compress is there any aftermarket shocks that u cna buy that are shorter that stock or am i stuck with a pair of dead shocks and struts
