My 03 Protege has had rotors replaced 5 X in 5 months. Why do they warp in 3 days to 1 month?

Have tried changing struts, steering hub, lubricating brakes. Has anyone else have this trouble with Protege? The clunking only starts after the car has run for 15-20 min., there is a creak when the brakes are first applied, and it's only the front right.

the problem is with your caliper it sounds like it is not releasing the brake all the way and heating the rotor up and warping it.

Is the front right wheel the wrong make for your car? Has that corner of the car been in a serious smash-up? Are you your own mechanic or is someone else ripping you off?
listen to wicked jester, dump your calipers. the slides are hanging up. go to the auto parts store and have them order you a set of LOADED CALIPERS. replace your rotors (ya one more time), dont try to resurface them.
I agree with problem being the caliper. The caliper is sticking and causing the brakes to drag and that will heat up the rotor in 15 min with ease. The squeaking is probably due the glazing caused by the heat. Replace the caliper and lube all hardware, replace the rotor and sand pad surface so it is rough.
I will answer this the best I can. ok the car does not even have to be running to warp rotors. you can drag it behind another car and warp them. it is hypothetical ofcourse just to prove a point... if you drive this car, and I mean drive like race red light to light you have to apply breakes real hard to stop.. ok a rotor it made to handel a lot of heat however if you ride the breakes the will oveer heat as they do well you tell me what steal does at 400 f it gets weak... also after you replace the rotors do you notice it is kinda hard to move the car? if so the calipar is sticking. it is supposed to retract off of the rotor when you release the breaks. to test this stop on a slant, small slant stop the car kinda hard and fast. let off the breaks does it roll away freely? if not can you push it with ease? calipars can be rebuilt but they are cheap enough to buy new at napa or any parts store. 2 or 4 bolts normaly hold them up or in place
My 02 Protege did the same thing. The mechanic said its something with those two years of Protege. Its a great car other than that though. Mine wasnt 5x in 5 months, but the rotors wear out fast.
