hi the best thing to do is take it back to your local dealer and have them fix it becuase even though it will be expensive its probably worth it

it is easiest to buy a quick strut...

First you need to remove the whole strut assembly. usually three nuts on top and two big bolt at the bottom.

you need a spring compressor some parts store will rent you these.

compress the spring and then remove the single nut from the top.

remove the retainer plat and then the Bering plate.

put in new parts and reassemble.

if you go this far you might as well replace the strut also. that is why i suggest the quick strut it is a new strut spring and Bering plate already assembled. this way you can unbolt the old and re bolt in the new. will take half hour or less with Right tools.
