Why should I have to have my strut mounts changed?

My car is only 4 years old. A Honda Civic. Isn%26#039;t it kind of early for that to happen?|||It certainly sounds early and I don%26#039;t know WHO recommended that? Struts are equivalent to shock absorbers, especially front wheel drive. If you have AAA, they have a decent inspection in case you bought this as a used car despite being only 4 years old. Mounts are rarer to be changed. If the car%26#039;s suspension is bad (much like shock absorbers) then strut repair can be a strut cartridge replacent as that is an inner part instead of replacing the whole strut. Also, repairs are generally done in pairs, like front left as well as front right. Also, many cars have struts for the front, but absorbers for the rear. Other things like tie rods and ball joints can be at fault if you have steering problems. Find a good mechanic or use AAA if you use AAA. Like many things in life, it%26#039;s best for things to be done properly and not just cheap. Like the old AAMCO transmission commercial, it%26#039;s pay me now or pay me more much later. Finding a good qualified mechanic is always a good thing. Ask around friends and neighbors who they recommend. They can be like gold.|||Strut mounts on a Civic only 4 years old? The only reason I could see you needing them is if it was causing the strut springs to squeak, or you%26#039;ve been using it to drive in the Baja 500. I%26#039;d definitely get a second opinion, because the only way you%26#039;d need strut mounts at only 4 years old would be due to extreme driving conditions or a shop trying to take you to the cleaners. Good luck and hope this helps.|||good idea to change them because eventually they will bang and squeak if you don%26#039;t.
