Do I have to change the strut springs?

I have a 1997 Mercury Sable, sedan and the gap between the tire and the fender is bigger on the front than it is in the back, and I don%26#039;t know what is causing that, recently I changed the Struts itselves but that did not fix the problem.|||you may be trying to fix a problem that don%26#039;t really exist, most cars have a different gap in the clearance between the front and the rear,as long as both sides set equal their alright, they wont ride perfectly level when the car is new,so their may not even be a problem with it,the springs can get weak over the years, but if you have about the same height on both sides it should be alright, good luck.|||The distance can be bigger, some cars are just designed that way. If youre that anal, youll have to either get body blocks, or adjustable springs. The concern would be if one front wheel has a bigger gap then the other front wheel.
