Is it ok to change 1 strut on the front of a Honda Civic and not change the other one at the same time?

The car has 60 k miles on it. The driver side front strut seems to compress much easier than the passenger side one. Thanks!|||Yes, you can replace just one strut.|||You have to change both.|||NO! You have to replace both. It is a safety issue. The car will not control properly if you just replace one.|||I cant believe the stupid answeres on here -

NO you can change 1 strut, just be sure to have the front end alignment after or you will be replacing it again.|||With only 60K miles on it I doubt the strut is in need of replacement. However, if it is leaking, go ahead and replace it and leave the other alone. These parts typically last 100K miles or so.|||lol, yes you can change 1 strut, it is advised that you change them in pairs, but it%26#039;s not necessary!! it%26#039;s pretty much like anything, ball joints (uppper/lower), tires, etc., etc. they recommend that you replace them in pairs (because it might effect the vehicle handling), but it%26#039;s not always necessary.

as mentioned, if you do the strut, have the alignment checked, and if you notice any big difference in handling, you might want to consider having the other strut done (but that%26#039;s up to you). you might have to pay for an additional alignment though.
