could i use C clamps or how muck is a spring compressor|||Not if you value your life, and want your head attached when the job is finished! This is more dangerous than looking down the barrel of a loaded cannon!!
You can buy spring compressers for around $20 if you find the right place, -- but if you get struts from AutoZone, they will let you borrow spring compreser to do the job (usually with a deposit, - but no charge if brought back as good as you took it out)! Buy a manual (Haynes Auto repair manual), -while you are there (if you don%26#039;t have a manual for your vehicle)! It tells and illustrates how to do the job! Costs less than $20 in most places,- and well worth the price because you can continue using it as long as you drive this vehicle!|||not reccommended very dangerous|||dont try it without the proper tools, dont even attempt with a g clamp. Go to any parts shop, a compressor costs about 40 bucks. loosen the top nut, dont remove yet,fit the compressors and wind them down until the spring is loose, have the new strut ready to fit everything on. use the new nut that comes with the strut|||I wouldn%26#039;t try with out a spring compressor
but here%26#039;s a good place to start
harbor freights|||u can go to autozone, advanced auto. ect. and rent the tool for the day it will only cost u $20. rental fee $ 50. deposit|||No.|||those springs can be a pain and probably not worth the work without spring compressor, check auto-zone and see if they have a spring compressor to rent, c-clamp will just slip off, one of the auto stores should rent one, I really don%26#039;t see any other way, those springs stay under pretty good tension on the strut|||Absolutely not! And that is with any kind of vehicle.
